29th Birthday Weekend on Film

Full disclosure, it’s occurring to me as I upload all of these photos that myself and my family have a tendency to go a little overboard for birthdays. (Read: birthday weekends.) However, it’s one of the special traditions we all look forward to, because we go equally all-out for everyone!

I just got a bunch of film delivered back that I shot for months over this spring, and my birthday weekend was one of the most fun highlights to sift through. I committed to carrying around my film camera all weekend from my aesthetic breakfast in bed, to the baseball game Peyton and I attended, to the farmers market, the outdoor dinner party my family planned, all the way to the grand finale Sunday girls’ brunch. Phew. I’m tired all over again just thinking about it—in the best way!

Although each part of the weekend was so special in its own way, our dinner party on Saturday night really just blew me away! I pitched the idea to my family in an open-ended way, and they all linked arms to craft an entire night based on my latest Pinterest board dreams. The entire experience was très français, from the wine and cocktail selection, to the main course of Coq au Vin—à la Julia Child—all the way to the crème brûlée and macarons we hardly had room for come dessert time. All of this, of course, was well-documented on an adorable custom menu—pictured below!

Enjoy some of my favorite moments from the weekend captured on film below! Cheers!
