Everyone could use a little sunshine in their Monday, so I couldn’t think of a more perfect thing to post than the dress that so many of you went crazy over last week (did y’all know that this photo ended up being my most liked photo on Instagram ever?!). I spotted this dress on ASOS a few weeks ago, and it instantly reminded me of a dress I saw in a recent advertisement for Chloé. As much as I love vying after the gorgeous designs I see during fashion week (currently very envious of those at Paris Fashion Week right now!), what I love almost as much is finding designs with elements of couture designs that are wearable and affordable. I love keeping up with Chloé‘s feminine designs with their signature touch of bohemian glamour. This Chloé-inspired frock just went on sale for under $50, so now is the perfect time to channel couture at a completely affordable price!

Happy Monday!

It’s officially the WEEKEND! If y’all hadn’t gathered it already from my last blog post, this week has been absolutely crazy for me. I’ve had quite a few highs and lows, but I’m so looking forward to a relaxing weekend to regain my energy.

One thing getting me through crazy times is reminding myself how important it is to have positive energy throughout it all. I’m a part of a Facebook group for rewardStyle bloggers where we can chat, ask questions and give each other advice, but often conversations become centered around struggles and annoyances of the blogging world. One amazing lady decided that enough was enough and created a new thread within the group encouraging everyone to share their “wins” of the week instead. It quickly filled up with comments of joy and mutual support for even the littlest of things–and it really made my heart happy. (One of my wins? My first photo ever on Instagram to hit over 1,000 likes!) It’s sounds so simple but is so crucial to surround yourself with supportive people, and sometimes, to have courage to step in and be the light to remind others to focus on the good in the midst of everything else, even if it’s nothing necessarily life-changing. (Hello, self: I just wrote about this not even two weeks ago! See #25 for some tough love).

I also wanted to share with y’all this look that (speaking of wins) makes me want to happy dance when I put it on. I just adore this little boutique called Shop Maude where I shop for a lot of my clothes online. Because they’re run boutique-style, you usually have to act pretty quickly to get what you want, but they have so many cute, unique pieces you won’t find anywhere else. Plus, most everything is under $100 with only a few exceptions! I need this darling spring dress in my life and definitely am going to have to scoop up these high-waisted shorts before they sell out! There’s something about the littlest things like finding a comfy pair of jeans you never want to take off, or the most rockin’ pair of boots you’ve ever owned that can make your confidence soar.

Here’s to the weekend and celebrating the little things!

Happy hump day! I wanted to give y’all a quick little update to apologize for being a little MIA in the blogosphere lately. Although I’ve been active as usual on Instagram, that’s simply because it doesn’t take as much thought to produce each post! I love to make each full blog post meaningful and well-thought-out, because I truly hate to do anything halfway. Unfortunately I’ve been up to my eyeballs in work outside of my blog, so I’ve been taking some time to fully concentrate on some other important work projects of mine. (Honestly y’all, I’m kind of exhausted!)

Hopefully I’ll have those wrapped up in a few weeks and be able to share more, because I have SO much fun content planned in working with new brands and more personal/work-related posts running around in my mind. When I do get to everything, I’ll make sure it’s done right. In the meantime, I couldn’t wait to share this one look, so I thought I’d go ahead and give you the details. Thank you for your patience while I get it together!

P.S. I’ve had so much fun chatting with a few of you in my spare time about things you’d be interested in seeing on the blog, and I would absolutely LOVE to hear more of your input! You are always welcome to message me on Instagram, or email me at wesleyday@haveawesleyday.com.

I think I may have included the color blush somewhere in most every outfit I’ve worn thus far in 2017 (see here, here and here!), and I think it’s safe to say my track record is far from over. The moment I spotted this blush pink faux-leather mini skirt, I knew it belonged in my closet. I’m such a fan of pieces that mix the ultra-feminine with edge (kate spade did a wonderful job of this in their pre-spring collection this year!) and this skirt is no exception. Plus, at just $36, it’s a total win (and definitely Regina George-approved). I brought this Lilla P. wool moto jacket back out (remember it from this post? It’s now on sale!) along with a plain white t-shirt and my staple black leather booties (also on sale!)–a combination that could not be easier to throw on and easily accommodates the changing seasons.

Happy (Pink) Wednesday!

Bloom Where You Are Planted

“Bloom where you are planted.”

I love this saying as it’s a constant reminder to a serial planner like myself to make my best effort to be grateful for where I am in life. I’ve never exactly been a “go with the flow” person when it comes to my personal life; honestly I think I’d be much more at ease sometimes if my planner was conveniently marked “Job offer coming up on the 12th!” or “Quarter life crisis planned for the last week of this month!”. All jokes aside, I’ve been chatting with many friends lately who share my same sense of discomfort in our search for identity and some sort of consistency. Misery always loves company, doesn’t it? It always seems in times when I’m most lost, though, my faith is always at an all time high. When talking the other day with a friend about all of the many confusions of being a twenty-something, I was so excited to share a verse that another good friend had shared with me during a long chat over Christmas break:

Philippians 4:7: “And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

I’d heard this verse many times before, but it never truly sunk into me until a few weeks ago. Honestly, I almost cried happy years right in the middle of our walk because I finally got it. During times of loneliness and confusion, I spend so much time talking God’s ear off about all of my problems. I come with a laundry list every night before I go to bed of issues I’d like fixed, and a “wishlist” if you will, of the way I’d like my life to look in the future. It never occurred to me until these conversations with my friends that instead of coming to God with my list of demands, I should instead come simply asking for peace–a kind of peace that is so calming and reassuring that I literally do not care to make sense of anything anymore, because it’s out of my hands. And in great hands, at that.

My prayer for anyone who is reading this is that you will allow the peace of Christ to quiet all of the questions and worry you have running around in your mind day to day. I pray that you’ll find peace with exactly where you are in life and will find joy in giving up the illusion of control to someone who has carefully crafted each day beyond our comprehension. Love each day in all its glory, and bloom wherever you are planted.
