It is finally getting chilly outside! (I say as I knock on wood because, well, it’s Alabama…) I’ve been piling up my favorite cold-weather accessories, willing for the day I’ll actually get to wear them. From my green Tartan Gloves from Target (who, by the way, has the best selection of chic winter gloves IMO) to my staple Green Hunter Boots, I can’t wait to incorporate these pieces I’ve been long-awaiting. If the temperature goes back up to 80 degrees next week, well…c’est la vie.
Y’all may have noticed that I’m a little navy-obsessed lately, and trust me, this won’t be the last time you see it! I love this oversized navy sweater from The Mint Julep Boutique with the cute “C’est la Vie” inscription on it! Here, I have it tucked in to add some shape to my look, but it’s actually really long, so it’s easy to style with your favorite pair of skinny jeans as well! Graphic tees are everything right now, and this sweater is the perfect way to transition that trend into a new season.
I paired the navy sweater with a contrasting red suede skater skirt, also from The Mint Julep Boutique! This flirty “Show Your Soft Side” skirt is a perfect flattering length that will also be great to wear over tights when it really gets cold this winter! This color combo of red + berry jewel tones is one you can’t go wrong with this season.
PSA: You are allowed to rock rainboots even when it’s not raining. (Cue the gasps) Seriously, if you’re going to splurge on a nice pair of really good looking rainboots, get some wear out of them! I opted for the more traditional hunter green color when selecting mine, though I’ve definitely had my eye on some more daring color options, like these in pink and these in red.
As I mentioned at the beginning of this post, I could resist picking up these green and navy tartan gloves from Target! Adding a preppy accessory here and there can take an outfit to a 10 in a split second.
I also added a few long-time staples, including my monogram cuff from Ex Voto Vintage and my custom “Have A Wesley Day” gold bangle from Taudrey! These gorgeous statement pieces have lasted me season after season, and truly add a unique touch to any outfit.
Another life update: I’m currently taking a film photography class, hence the film camera featured here! It’s quite a challenging hobby to take up, but it adds a completely different aspect to truly learning the ins and outs of photography, if that’s something that interests you! Pretty much everywhere (in Alabama, at least) has stopped selling film cameras, film, and everything needed to process it, but if you’re interested in getting to know the lost art, I highly recommend shopping at B&H for all of your needs!
